DR. UMEAKUEWULU RECEIVES DIVINE MERCY CATHOLIC CHAPLAINCY, CALLS FOR STRONGER PARTNERSHIP The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka, Dr. Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, received a delegation from the Divine Mercy Catholic Chaplaincy on a courtesy visit to felicitate with her on her appointment. The delegation, led by the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Michaelkings Okpala, expressed their congratulations and joy at her assumption of office and appreciated the long-standing relationship between the Chaplaincy and the Teaching Hospital, noting that her appointment would further strengthen this collaboration. Members of the Chaplaincy presented religious articles to the CMD as welcome gifts and formally welcomed her into the Chaplaincy community. They expressed confidence in working with her to promote staff and patient well-being and requested ongoing partnership to support the hospital’s initiatives and provide spiritual guidance. Responding, Dr. Umeakuewulu thanked God for the opportunity to serve and appreciated the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and his wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, attributing her homecoming to their confidence in her. She extended her hand of partnership to the Divine Mercy Catholic Chaplaincy, assuring them of her readiness to collaborate in all areas for the growth of the hospital. Others present with the CMD included the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Nnaemeka Umedum; Head of Administration, Mrs. Chioma Ibekie; Head of Accounts, Mr. Wilson Ezeilo; Head of Laboratory Services, Mr. Okechukwu Umeh; Head of Nursing Services, Mrs. Angel Nebo; Public Relations Officer, Agbai Henrietta; and Head of Internal Audit, Mrs. Uju Ejiofor.
