DR. UMEAKUEWULU MEETS RESIDENT DOCTORS, ASSURES PROMPT ACTION ON CHALLENGES The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, Dr. Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, held a strategic meeting with Resident Doctors as part of continued engagement with key professional groups in the hospital. The Resident Doctors were led by the President of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), COOUTH, Dr. Joy Okwumuo. The Resident Doctors congratulated the Chief Medical Director on her appointment and expressed optimism about the positive transformation her administration would bring to their welfare, training, and overall working conditions. They also presented some of the challenges affecting their duties and appealed for management’s intervention. Responding, Dr. Umeakuewulu listened attentively to the issues raised and assured them of prompt action aimed at improving their working conditions and enhancing service delivery. She reiterated management’s commitment to supporting their professional development and ensuring a conducive environment for effective training and quality patient care. Other members of the Management Team present at the meeting included the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Nnaemeka Umedum; Deputy CMAC, Dr. Ifeoma Njelita; Head of Administration, Mrs. Chioma Ibekie; Head of Accounts, Mr. Wilson Ezeilo; and the Public Relations Officer, Agbai Henrietta.
